The seabed along the transect consists of sand and shells/shell fragments, becoming increasingly gravelly to the NW. Fauna are dominated by echinoderms (brittlestars, urchins, starfish). Bivalves (including scallops) and gastropods are also present. A number of thornback rays can be seen along the transect between 400m and 600m from the SE end.
